Offering Prayer

A priest standing in front of colosul statue of Lord Gomateshwara (Bahubali) and offering prayer.  One has to climb few more steps after reach Odegal Basti (Triple Shrine Temple) on Vindyagiri Hill in Shravanabelagola.  More to come from this place....

  1. A powerful shot indeed! Stunning capture, Sam! The brilliant color of the priests robe against the gray is fantastic and the statue itself, needless to say is awesome! It's feet are as big as the priest himself! Have a wonderful week!

  29. Do you know this shot actually made me gasp? Almost as if it had knocked the wind out of me. It's just such a perfect representation of what people feel like when considering a higher power, that it is both huge, and small all at once.

Lovely shot, beautiful concept. Congratulations on the post of the week mention over at Hilary's blog. This picture will stay with me for a while. Just the idea of being both towering and tiny in the face of a larger, uniting force :-)
