A theme is picked for every the flower show and the flowers are arranged accordingly. This years Independence Day flower show theme was Gateway of India, 1000's of roses were used to make this gigantic structure in the form of Gateway of India.
another shot from a different angle
A closeup shot gives a better idea of how the rose's are arranged.
This huge Gateway of India made out of thousands of roses left the visitor's amazed
But the real show stopper was 260 different varieties of orchids (I thought I'll make a seperate post just with Orchid flowers, will be posting soon). Looking at the beauty of these flowers everyone wanted a Orchid plant for their home (So did I). Many nursery's had set up a stall and were selling different variety of Orchid plants but they were heavily prized. Probably this was the time for them to cash in.
The event draws many companies and nursery's from all over india to participate and also 1000's of visitor's, as per the local newspaper close to 7000 people are visiting every day, I went there early morning hoping to get some nice shots of the flowers but i was taken by surprise by the crowd already present there.
Visitor's were asked to keep moving to make way for other's. I was in a point, click and move situation and so was everyone else.
All the beautiful flowers there did put a smile on the visitor's face :)
Here are some more flower photo's from the event, many were common flowers....
Some looked alien....
and some like under water creatures..... Mother nature is so creative isnt it?
nice ones :)
