34 Alleppey Beach

Sunset at Alleppy Beach
Also known as Alappuzha beach is one of the most popular spots in the district of Alappuzha. Pier seen here is about 160 years old and extends 1000ft into the sea. Its a remnant of what was once a ship bay built to provide shelter and protection to boats and ships. Alappuzha is know to have had trade links with Ancient Greece and Rome. Marco Polo called this place "Venice of the East"

WATER

Water in a drop of rain,
Water swirling down the drain;
Water clinging to the trees,
Water filling up the seas;
Water frozen, water free,
Water is the stuff for me!

That is magnificent.

What a capture. Looks like it should be used on a calendar or for the Chamber of Commerce to entice people to the area.

What a splendid stop on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday's letter "S".

Thank you for sharing this beauty with us.
